Are You Ready For The Atlanta 2019 Big Game!
The invasion has begun. Thousands of visitors are arriving as we speak to attend the Big Game LIII in Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium, home of the Atlanta Falcons. As so many of our fellow football fans pour into our great city, we thought it might be a good time to share some tips for the Atlanta 2019 Big Game.
Tips for The Atlanta 2019 Big Game
Traffic. If there is one thing Atlanta is known for, and no it’s not the Varsity, it is traffic! Our traffic is famous. And add a few raindrops, or Heaven forbid a couple snowflakes, and a 20-minutes short drive can quickly add up to hours on I-75. In addition, for security, many local roads close to the stadium will be closed, so plan to do some walking if not using public transportation. While some may advise you that Uber and Lyft are options, remember their drivers will be among the thousands of others stuck with you on the roads.
Take it from us that know, use Marta!
Parking. Atlanta parking comes at a premium during big events. While it is not unheard of to pay upwards of $20 for a space in a lot, and that is if you get there hours early, with this being the Atlanta 2019 Big Game, you are likely to be looking at even greater fees. For example, Big Game LII found spaces near the stadium going for $200! Also, beware of “fly-by-night” parking lots. These are often parking lots that spring up in reserved business parking of buildings. More than once fans have come out to find their vehicles booted and the “parking attendants” gone. Make sure you get a ticket to put in your car windshield and things look legit.
Be prepared to pay big bucks and arrive early, VERY early if you wish to park. Or, again use Marta.
Tickets. Atlanta’s 2019 Big Game Tickets Are Still Available, But You Will Pay BIG. While tickets are still available be prepared to shell out some major coin. Currently on Ticketmaster, the cheapest seats are going for $2700+ while premium seats in the VIP sections are offered at a whopping $17,500 each! Also, beware the closer to game time, the more ticket scalpers will be out. It’s always best to buy your ticket from a reputable dealer.
Can’t afford the price tag, don’t worry many of the local bars and restaurants are hosting watching parties where the beer will be flowing and everyone is friendly.
Events. The great part of hosting the Atlanta 2019 Big Game, is there will be no shortage of events to celebrate the upcoming game. If there is one thing we know how to do in our great southern city, it is how to throw a great party! Already there have been events taking place all over the city in preparation of the Atlanta 2019 Big Game and this weekend will be no exception. The AJC has a list available to guide you in your planning. But, some of the best things to do are to just to get out and explore all Atlanta has to offer.
